Please read the following guidelines that confirm the information you will need, before starting any congress registration. Please note, the below applies to any registration whether completed by the attendee or on behalf of the attendee (group registration).
Please note that this year's only accepted payment method for the congress/course is by credit/debit card. However, if you are really unable to make a payment with a card, please feel free to reach out to registration@worldmusclesociety.org for assistance.
Declaration
All abstract submitters who are accepted must complete, sign and return a conflict of interest link. A link will be sent in the abstract outcome notification if the abstract is accepted. The link must be completed within 72 hours from that date. When submitting an abstract with multiple authors, only the presenting author must complete the declaration of conflict of interest. We do not require a conflict of interest from all authors of the same paper. If you have any queries please contact our WMS Accreditation Manager, Elena Plugaru at certificate@worldmusclesociety.org.
Fellowship
Remember to check if you are eligible for a Fellowship at https://www.wms2023.com/page/fellowships-and-prizes and apply during the registration process.
Professional/organisation email address
Please note that you need to use your professional organisation email address rather than a personal one (e.g. not Hotmail, Gmail etc).
Membership number and expiration date (if relevant)
Member registration fees for the congress apply to individuals who hold a current membership with the WMS, which must be active at registration time and during the congress in October 2023. Members will be asked to confirm their membership number and expiration date during Congress registration in order to access the member fees. This information will appear on any recent membership invoices or on your member area of https://www.worldmusclesociety.org/users/home.
Please make sure you have this information available before beginning a registration as the form will not store incomplete data.
Are you licensed/authorised to prescribe or supply 'prescription medicine'?
All participants, with the exception of the exhibitors, are asked this question during registration.
Student Non-member (if relevant)
To benefit from the reduced fees, non-member students must provide a scan of a valid student ID and a letter from their course supervisor confirming they have an ongoing student project and the details (maximum of one side of A4 on official headed paper) and/or confirming their student status and the date until which this status is granted. The letter must confirm Undergraduate, Basic or Medical student, Master, PhD student, resident in training or post doc status. The letter should ideally be in English. If this is not possible, then important key words should be underlined.
These documents must be uploaded during registration in PDF/JPG format, otherwise the registration cannot be completed. Please note, the registration form does not store any incomplete data.
To qualify, delegates must also have no direct interest/shares in a pharmaceutical company or be more than 50% employed by a profit-making organisation. If you are unclear about your student status, please contact Prof. Laurent Servais on secretary@worldmusclesociety.org for guidance.
In-person vs virtual attendance
Delegates must indicate the relevant attendance type during registration for catering and badging purposes, and to aid our sustainability efforts, avoid waste and disappointments. Transfers between attendance types will be accepted until 1st September 2023 and must be requested in writing to registration@worldmusclesociety.org. Please see the Registration Terms and Conditions for the full details.
Industry ticket limits
Please note that member & non-member industry registrations for WMS 2023 will be capped at 20% of the overall registrations available (including Sponsor & Exhibitor package tickets). The industry tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. We will of course monitor and review the situation regularly to make sure that this Industry attendance opportunity is being used fairly, and by a wide selection of industry partners and attendees, rather than dominated by a select few.
Accompanying persons (in-person only)
There is an opportunity for delegates to register an accompanying person who will have access to the congress social events only. Access to congress sessions will not be included. Accompanying person tickets are not available for the course.
The accompanying person cannot be a colleague with professional interest in the congress topic.
Pre-Congress Teaching Course attendance (if relevant)
You will be asked to provide a short biography (max 50 words) and upload a portrait photo during registration, if you are booking Pre-Congress Teaching Course tickets.
Visa letter (in-person only)
If a delegate requires an invitation letter for Visa purposes, the following information will be requested in the registration process: nationality, passport number, passport expiry date, date of birth. A PDF letter should be with you within 14 days of completing the registration process, pending payment and internal checks of the data provided.
Eligibility
Patient parents/relatives
Please note that WMS2023 is unable to accept registration applications from individual patient parents/relatives or other members of the public.
We have created a registration package for Patient Advocacy Groups. The package includes up to 2 registration tickets for the scientific representatives of the organisation and a table in the exhibition area to engage with delegates and raise awareness. The group will also be showcased alongside the exhibitors in the congress virtual portal and app.
Non-member Student
Relevant for a medical student, a medical doctor in training to acquire his/her primary speciality, a PhD student, a post doc, an MSC student or equivalent.
The delegate must have no direct interest/shares in a pharmaceutical company or be more than 50% employed by a profit-making organisation. If you are unclear about your student status, please contact Prof. Laurent Servais on secretary@worldmusclesociety.org for guidance.
Investors
Please note that WMS2023 is unable to accept registration applications from financial organisations or investors.
Non-member Industry
Relevant for delegates in the Pharma and Industry sectors. By selecting this registration type, you are stating that you receive payment from any private companies and/or institutions that operate in the field covered by the WMS (such as employment, consultancy, speaking engagements, or service on a Data Safety Monitoring Board or Scientific Advisory Board) or you or your immediate family own equity in or receive royalties from a for-profit commercial entity, that together account for at least 50% of your annual income.
Sponsor/Exhibitor
Available for confirmed sponsors and exhibitors only.
Representatives of confirmed sponsor and exhibitor organisations will be sent bespoke registration links once sponsorship agreements have been confirmed with the organisers. These links will be provided to the global coordinator in each organisation. Sponsor/Exhibitor tickets provide the same level of access to congress sessions and virtual platform features as delegate congress tickets.
